How it works
- Upload your form and spreadsheet. One PDF form plus a CSV or Excel file. Emboss finds the fields and reads your columns.
- Confirm the auto-matched columns. Emboss matches each field to a column for you — review and adjust before it runs.
- Download the filled batch as a ZIP. One filled PDF per row, bundled into a single ZIP you can download.
Common questions
- How do I batch fill PDF forms from a spreadsheet?
- Upload one PDF form and a CSV or Excel file. Emboss detects the form's fields, matches them to your spreadsheet columns, fills one PDF per row, and returns them all together as a ZIP.
- What spreadsheet formats work?
- CSV and XLSX. The first row is the header that names your columns, and each following row becomes one filled PDF.
- What PDF field types are supported?
- Text fields, checkboxes, dropdowns, radio buttons, and option lists — Emboss fills each from the matching column in your spreadsheet.
- How many rows can I fill at once?
- Up to 1,000 rows per batch. For larger jobs, split the file into a few batches or run them through the API.
- How is it priced?
- You're billed per operation, with no subscription. A batch run is one context fill for the column-to-field mapping plus one standard fill for every row that gets filled — so a 50-row batch is one mapping charge and 50 fills. If your PDF wasn't fillable yet, making it fillable is one extraction the first time. Every account gets a free monthly allowance of each, so small batches can be free, and you only pay once you go past it. Current per-operation rates are on the pricing page.
- Do my files stay private?
- Your form and spreadsheet are used only to produce the filled PDFs — never sold, and our AI providers aren't permitted to train on them. See our privacy policy for the details.
